What to do in March?

What to do in March?

Remember that saying, March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb? We do!
As February ends, many families are looking forward to Spring and some warm weather! Unfortunately in northern New Jersey, we still have a quite a few cold days left.  At Black River Landscape, we love to spend time with our kids. We’ve compiled some great indoor and outdoor ideas to make it through the last of the chilly March days before we can spend endless summer nights by our firepits.

First, celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday at the Morris Museum on Saturday March 3 11:00am-4:00pm with accommodations for families with disabilities at 10:00am.  Come dressed as your favorite Dr. Seuss character for fun at the photo station, or spend time reading your favorite books.  Learn more about it and register at http://morrismuseum.org/family-fun-days/

If your family wants to squeeze in the last bit of outdoor winter fun, you should definitely visit Pyramid Mountain in Montville Township.  Attend a guided snowshoe hike Sundays March 4 & March 11 at 1pm.  There’s more info (and activities!) listed on the Morris County Park Commission website.

Are you a Jim Henson fan? Then come sing along with the classic Muppet Movie at Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown.  Sign up at mayoarts.org for the March 11th event filled with puppets, bubbles, surprises, and lots of music.

Mid- March (3/14 to be exact) is Pi Day!  This is the perfect day to bake your favorite pie with your families at home, or stop off at a local diner on their way home from school for a slice of apple pie a la mode.  If you want to get mathematical, you can order a pizza (pie) for dinner and find the circumference.  π × 2 × the radius (or half the diameter) will give you that circle’s perimeter.  Test it out using a piece of string to measure!

Are you a fan of Legos? Check out mommypoppins.com to register to build the entire town of Montclair out of 60,000 Lego pieces.  That’s Sunday, March 25 from 2:00pm-7:00pm.  The Mommy Poppins blog has tons of other great March activities as well!

Finally, NJFamily.com has an expansive, searchable calendar for even more great ideas for family fun and activities.  If you’re still stumped, give Black River Landscape a call or email. We can help daydream and plan for your family’s new backyard for great adventures right at home for the soon-to-be Spring weather.

And don’t forget to share on Facebook! Tag us and let us know what activity you and your family are going to attend. Maybe we’ll meet you there!

Just wanted to send you a note to compliment your company and its employees for outstanding service and a job well done.
Your crew arrived at my home on Wednesday, Aug. 9th to begin removing the old walkway and rock retaining wall. I was amazed at how quickly the removal process was completed without disturbing the surrounding area and lawn. I’ve never seen such an efficient crew that work very well together.
I can’t say enough good things about Yon, Dennis and Jonathan. They have excellent work ethics and have the skills to do a great job!!
I am completely satisfied with the work they performed and the extra finishing touches made the whole job standout as a “one of a kind” project.
My friends and neighbors have done nothing but compliment me on this beautiful walkway and retaining wall. A couple of my neighbors even asked Yon for a business card for possible jobs to be done on their properties. I hope they do call your office for a quote because I know they will not be disappointed.
Please pass along my compliments to your crew for a great experience.
I would be more than happy to talk to any potential customers to inform them of how good your company is and how satisfied I am with the work that was performed.
Best Regards,
